Mentorships

In an effort to facilitate the development of anesthesia residents and medical students, the Michigan Society of Anesthesiologists has compiled a list of individuals who are interested in acting as mentors to those who have questions about the specialty or the ancillary aspects of its practice. Please feel free to email the individuals below. When contacting them please provide your name, specific questions, and the preferred method for them to contact you. • Scott Schenck, MD

  

  Dr. Schenck completed residency at the: University of Michigan and currently practices in Grand Rapids. Even though he is primarily engaged in private practice he holds a clinical appointment at Michigan State University and works throughout the year with both medical students and residents in other specialties. Current interests include cardiothoracic and vascular anesthesia, electronic medical records and information systems.

• Dominic Monterosso, DO

  

  Dr. Monterosso completed is residency and pediatric fellowship at the University of Michigan. Currently he is in private practice in Royal Oak. His interests center on pediatric anesthesiology.

• Robert Martin, MD

  

  Dr. Martin completed his residency at , and worked for a number of years as faculty at the University of Chicago. Currently he is in private practice in Grand Rapids.

• John LaGorio, MD

  

  Dr. LaGorio completed medical school and residency at the University of Michigan and is currently in private practice in Muskegon where he serves as President of Lakeshore Anesthesia Services, PC. He has interests in practice management, rural health care, and medical education."
